First English Ev. Lutheran Church

Youth Group is open to all kids from 6th grade to 12th grade.  We meet on the first Sunday of each month.   During our meetings  we make sixty sack lunches for the Homeless Shelter of South Bend. 

These Lunches include:

- 2 sandwiches 1 pb&j and 1 meat
- drink
- 1 bag each of carrots and cookies
- 1 pc. of fruit (usually an apple)
- mints

If you are ever around on the first Sunday of the month you should check out the assembly line

Fundrasing

We do various fundraising during the year. 

They include: pancake breakfast for Advent and one for Easter, Rent-a-kid, and Noisy offering.

In the past we have gone to Great America.  We are always looking for new members and new ideas.  Plan to join us on the first Sunday of each month (we do take the summer off) for fun and service.

Women of all ages come together almost every Friday afternoon from 1:00 P.M until 3:00 P.M. and another group meet every other Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the church lounge to knit, crochet, and hand loom gifts of comfort and joy.  We create prayer shawls, hats, scarves, blankets and stockings and distribute them to anyone who needs one both within and outside of the church.  We begin and end with prayer asking that God bless our hands, yarn, needles and looms to do His work and serve others.  During our sessions we enjoy good fellowship and often teach others about new techniques, patterns and materials.  Beginners are always welcome.  We will teach you.  Working with yarn to benefit others is an ancient and wonderful ministry.  Come be with us!
